The Oracle

33% Extroversion, 100% Intuition, 27% Emotiveness, 52% Perceptiveness

Heuristic, detached, and analytical to a fualt, you are most like The Oracle. You are able to tackle any subject with a fine toothed comb, and you possess an ability to pinpoint nuances and shades of meaning that other people do not have and cannot understand. Accomplishment and realization of ideas are, for you, secondary to the rigorous exploration of ideas and questions -- you are, first and foremost, a theorist. You hate authority, convention, tradition, and under no circumstances do you accept a leadership role (although, you will gladly advise leadership when they're going astray, whether they want you to or not). Abstraction and generalities are your interests, details and particulars are usually inconsequential and uninteresting. You excel at language, mathematics and philosophy.

You are typically easy-going and non-confrontational until someone violates one of the very few principles that you deem sacred, at which point you can fly into a rage. Although you possess a much greater understanding of process and systems than the people around you, you are always conscious of the possibility that you've missed something or made a mistake. You don't tend to become attached to particular theories, and will immediately discard mistaken notions once they're revealed to be incorrect (but you don't tolerate iconoclasts who try to discredit validated theories through the use of fallacies and bad data). Despite being outwardly humble, you probably think of yourself as being smarter than most other people. That's because you are. In fact, in your dealings with people your understanding of their motives is so expansive that you know what they're going to say before they say it, and in world affairs, you usually know what is going to take place before it actually does. This ability would make you unbeatable in debates if only you were a little less pensive about your own conclusions, and a little more outgoing.

Famous people like you: Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Adam Smith, Thomas Jefferson, John McWhorter, Ramanujan, Marie Curie, Kurt Godel

Stay clear of: Apollo, Icarus, Hermes, Aphrodite

Seek out: Atlas, Prometheus, Daedalus

haven't found them yet.

Your Theme Song is Back in Black by AC/DC

"Back in black, I hit the sack,
I've been too long, I'm glad to be back"

Things sometimes get really crazy for you, and sometimes you have to get away from all the chaos.
But each time you stage your comeback, it's even better than the last!

Ok, I feel a little bit better. I really do like that song, too.

Your Stripper Song Is

She Wants to Move by N.E.R.D.

"Her off beat dance makes me fantasize
(Her curves) She's sexy!!"

You are 100% sex appeal. As simple as that.

I personally think it should be something by Prince or Kelis (Milkshake). But that's coming from someone who hasn't ever been to a strip club. :)

You Should Be a Science Fiction Writer

Your ideas are very strange, and people often wonder what planet you're from.
And while you may have some problems being "normal," you'll have no problems writing sci-fi.
Whether it's epic films, important novels, or vivid comics...
Your own little universe could leave an important mark on the world!

I guess that since I'm not a sci-fi writer, I'm as close as I'm going to get now by writing science curricula...

You Should Be Fashion Designer

Although you're offbeat and artistic, you have a good eye for trends
You can figure out new incredible clothes to create... that will sell well!

Your Quirk Factor: 70%

You're so quirky, it's hard for you to tell the difference between quirky and normal.
No doubt about it, there's little about you that's "normal" or "average."

Your Hillbilly Name Is...

Penny Sue West

Still haven't found them. I do feel even better, though.

whenever he wants to watch the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny...

it's by Mo Willems, of Pigeon & Sesame Street fame. And here it is! Of course you'd have to have my *kind* of humor to like this, but Natha and I, of course, find it to be hilarious.

I also saw my favorite episode of Ellen this morning - where she dresses up in a chicken suit for a party and accidentally crashes a wake. You'd have to see it to understand why I like it. :)

Also, if you're wondering what the "My Voice is so High" song that I keep getting stuck in my head, here that one is. The main page for his animations is here.

I always remember that on our second date, Ed and I met at the Frist Center and he brought me a CD with Dexter's Lab cartoons on it. I had told him that my favorite cartoon ever was Sheep in the Big City and he had emailed Mo Willems to try and buy the rights from him. That was really sweet. :)

On another note, I'm *finished* with the Master's degree - took the last final yesterday. Don't really feel different, although I enjoyed my day-with-two-naps that happened today! I've still got tutoring and curriculum planning to do, but I get PAID for those things, and they're both part-time.

Natha has his kindergarten performance tonight - it's entitled "Bugz!" and he has a speaking part. He could dress up as any bug he wanted, so I suggested over and over again that he should be a stickbug (I would attach little sticks to a shirt & shorts). He insisted on being an ant. So, on Tuesday night I made him a carpenter/worker ant costume for his dress rehearshal yesterday morning. He woke up on Wednesday and the first thing he said was, "Mom, I changed my mind. I want to be a stickbug." To which I replied, " Too late buster. You're an ant and you'll like being an ant." He made his little bug-bed and he's going to buzz around in it.

Eek!
So I'm reading an email on gmail from the AAAS regarding the defense of truly scientific education (e.g.- the intelligent design debacle) and this nonsense comes up at the top of gmail as as sponsored link. Argh!

On a better note, the AAAS has put together materials for educators regarding the defense of teaching evolution properly which is located here and should be passed along to any educators you know. There is also a press release/information oriented page concerning education and evolution here, which includes a FAQ sheet.

Here's another article found that is *ahem* possibly a bit biased.

Um. I'll let you figure the problem with that one out.

Defend early and often! :)

Natha's kindergarten-partner-in-crime moved to Colorado. Natha kept trying to send him a letter and I didn't know he'd moved, so I didn't think much of it. Then I found out he'd moved but I didn't know his address. Natha keeps talking about him and will even cry sometimes because he misses him. (It doesn't seem like a big deal to us big people, but when you're in kindergarten and someone goes away that you'd bonded with it's a really important event.)

I was thinking of how to get in touch with his mom and remembered this morning that I had her email address. So, I emailed her this morning and guess what - Natha's got a new pen pal! He's asleep right now but he'll be really happy to hear tomorrow morning that I've got his address!

I've also got my first student for chemistry tutoring tomorrow at 4:30! Ooh the excitement!

While attending a Marriage Seminar dealing with communication, Tom and
his wife Grace listened to the instructor, "It is essential that
husbands and wives know each other's likes and dislikes."
He addressed the man, "Can you name your wife's favorite flower?"
Tom leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered,
"It's Pillsbury, isn't it?
